I recently heard this quote on a show: “Be at where your feet at.” While it might not be the best grammar, it’s entirely true. Wherever your feet are, be present in that moment.
There’s so much going on in the world right now with elections, breaking news, weather updates, social media drama, summer travel, and more. Since July started, it feels like the world is all gas and no brakes. To be present takes intentionality. Here are some ways I’m practicing being at where my feet are.
5 Ways to Be Where My Feet Are
- Limiting distractions: When I’m out, I turn my phone over.
- Engaging in active listening: I make an effort to truly hear and understand what others are saying.
- Not overloading my schedule: I try to avoid more than two events in one day.
- Asking open-ended questions: This encourages deeper conversations.
- Showing empathy: I try to understand and share the feelings of others.
In a world filled with distractions, we must be intentional about being where our feet are. Being present means fully being there with others.
