I’m sure you are reading this and thinking this blog is going to be about someone turning 40 years old and that turning 40 is equivalent to them being 25 years old, but keep reading and you will see this post is about something completely different.
Have you ever wished there were more hours in a week?
Or noticed that the weekend often passes by too quickly?
Or you wake up on Monday morning thinking… Monday is here again.
Sigh….Regardless if you answered yes or no, this blog is for you.
For the last 2 weeks, I have been working from home. Yes, 2 full weeks!!! Do you know how that has changed my life and blessed my soul? Working in your PJs is a complete blessing!
I have come up with the perfect solution to continue this.
My Solution:
My idea is to propose shorter work days. With my new proposed work week, the average American will only be working 5 hours a day, 5 days a week to work a total of 25 hours a week but will still make the same amount as if they were working 40-hours a week. Who made up this rule that we have to work 40 hours a week? I believe it is time to change this!
Of course, this sounds crazy and your manager and HR team will more than likely look at you as if you are crazy. However, you have to share with them the benefits.
25 Hour Work Week Benefits
– Eat 2 meals at home with family
– Parents will be able to pick up their kids from school
– Higher productivity
– Better work-life balance
– Well rested employees for work
The majority of employees are more productive during their first 4 to 5 hours at work and once they go to lunch, it takes a while to get back into the groove of working, so why come back? Go home, relax!
So if you are with me, please forward this to your HR team and your manager for approval, but please don’t mention my name.
You can’t blame a girl for hoping this was my reality, but if my company ever needs anyone to volunteer to try this out, I will be the first volunteer in line!
Sign me up, please. Lol
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 3:2
