Often we have a ton of things going on and we realize we aren’t doing anyone particular thing well. #exhausted We can become busy overwhelming ourselves with tasks that we can’t enjoy or devote our energy to one thing to be successful.
Storytime: I recently had the opportunity to be a guest blogger once a week on someone else blog. I was ecstatic when I first learned about it; however, I took a moment to think about it before accepting the offer. I currently only blog once a week on my own blog site. I’m a part-time student with a full-time job, who also wants to pursue other passions. I thought about accepting the guest blog position because I enjoy blogging; however, I want to focus on my own current tasks before I over-extend myself and feel like I haven’t accomplished anything. I recently read a devotion that said focus on 2 to 3 tasks at a time. Well, my Calculus 2 class can honestly count as 3 tasks, because it takes about 10 or more hours of my time every week and I still haven’t mastered it.??? In all seriousness, my 3 tasks right now outside of my relationship with God are school, working out and consistency with my own blog. That’s it. I can’t add anything else to my schedule until I do my current tasks well. I refuse to overcommit and under-promise on anything. My word is all I have, so right now, I’ll work on during these 3 things well.
Question of the Day: What can you work on doing well?
Scripture of the Day: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 KJV
