Grains of Sand

I’m currently sitting at the beach, reading a devotional about birthdays, and one of the scriptures for the first day was:

If you’ve ever been to the beach, you know that sand gets everywhere! 😂

I left the beach with sand in my purse, under my watch, in my hair, in my shoes, and probably in places I haven’t discovered yet. There are countless grains of sand surrounding you when you simply sit on the beach. So many that you wouldn’t even dare try to count them.

Honestly, trying to count every grain of sand feels almost impossible. There’s simply too much of it.

And that’s what makes this scripture so beautiful to me.

As I reflect on my birthday, I’m reminded that God’s thoughts toward me are just as abundant as the grains of sand on the beach. On my worst day, His thoughts toward me are precious. On my best day, His thoughts toward me are still precious. Nothing about my circumstances changes the way He thinks about me.

There is something incredibly comforting about knowing that God is always thinking about me.

Not occasionally.
Not only when I get it right.
Not only when I’m having a good day.

Always.

His thoughts toward me are vast, precious, and more than I could ever count.

So as you go about your day, I pray you remember this: God is thinking about you. And His thoughts toward you are precious.

Just like I can’t count the grains of sand beneath my feet, I can’t count the thoughts God has toward me.

And honestly, I don’t want to.

I’d rather spend my days resting in the beautiful truth that I am always on His mind.
